Comprising superior quality, solid, substantial injection molded plastic components with a simple snap-fit design that allows for easy assembly without the need for glue, this SkyMarks 1/130 Scale Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-900 - with Registration N492AS - which is painted with the stylized "Our Commitment" livery with quotes from both Nelson Mandela and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. along its fuselage, measures approximately 12-7/8-inches long with a 11-1/8-inch wingspan and comes complete with a Display Stand. An accurate, true-to-scale reproduction of the actual aircraft, the model is great for collectors and features authentic, highly detailed graphics and markings. To share its "joint commitment to education and advancing racial equality," Alaska Airlines partnered with its Black Employee Alliance resource group to design its "Our Commitment" livery for this aircraft, which acknowledges its long-standing partnership with the UNCF, a philanthropic organization that provides underrepresented students with scholarship assistance to become "highly-qualified college graduates." The Boeing 737-900 falls under the category of Boeing's 737 Next Generation aircraft, abbreviated 737NG, and was launched as the third-generation derivative of the 737 Classic. Substantially redesigned with numerous updates to the 737 Classic, the 737NGs primary competitor is the Airbus A320 series. The Boeing 737-900, for whom Alaska Airlines was the launch airline in 1997, and accepted delivery in 2001, has a slightly longer fuselage than the 737-800 and can be typically configured to generally seat between 177 and 189 passengers. Boeing delivered its final 737NGs in January 2020, having replaced it with the fourth-generation 737MAX, which was introduced in 2017.
